As a part-time resident of Florida, guess what? I am now an expert on hurricanes. Charley missed my house by 100 miles, but only at the last hour. Frances knocked down my favorite tree and took out our power for a week. For Ivan, we evacuated to the kinder and gentler (climate of) New York.
